Two rounds of One-Day (50 over matches) and one round of Declaration. The First Round would include Pelichet Bay or Otago Country (pending formal proposal from OC) the following One-Day and Declaration rounds would include byes. Total amount of weeks = 21; Total amount of matches = 19

One-Dayers: Round One: Oct 2 – Nov 13

One-Dayers: Round Two: Nov 20 – Dec 18, Jan 29 and Feb 5

Declaration: Feb 12 – March 26

One-Day rounds would need to be two distinct competitions so that Pelichet Bay or Otago Country have something to play for. (Speights Cup - Round One and the Otago Sports Depot Trophy - Round Two.)

Top Three teams not including Pelichet Bay or Otago Country will represent Dunedin in the Otago National Club Championships Qualifying Competition.

Pre-season: Up for discussion, is two weeks of Twenty20 useful? Sept 18^th start?

Franchise

Mix of 40 Over match* and Twenty20, semi-final and final for a prize package yet to be determined.

Jan 8^th: One 40 match*

Jan 15^th: Two Twenty20 matches

Jan 22^nd: Two Twenty20 play-off matches.

*40 Over Declaration Match: Two Innings match, each team must bat twice. Declarations must be between overs 6 & 34. Team that scores the most runs in both innings win. Bowlers limited to 6 overs in an innings and can only bowl 8 for the match.

Second Grade

Proposal One: (as circulated March 2010)

• Pre-Christmas one full round - 12 teams (Oct 2 – Dec 11), Final Dec 18
• Post-Christmas split into pools: Pool 1: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11; Pool 2: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.
  • one round – 5 games (Feb 5 – March 5)
  • split into three pools: top two from Pool 1 and Pool 2; middle two from Pool 1 and Pool 2; bottom two from Pool 1 and Pool 2
  • cross over semi-finals and then finals for each pool (Semi- Final march 12, Final March 19, March 26^th Reserve Day)

 Rationale

Often teams change considerably after Christmas and so top 6 / bottom 6 may not represent actual strengths.

Fewer Saturdays required post-Christmas which would leave January free.

Third Grade and Fourth Grade 

• Similar to last season, ask for entries for each grade.
• 40 Over matches in each grade, with Semi-Finals and Finals (Oct 9 – March 20) March 26 Reserve Day
• Twenty20 matches in December and during play-offs for teams not competing in Finals

Masters Twenty20

Depending on entries and ground availability. We will endeavour to have two six week leagues for players 35 plus.
