Proposed Make Up of 2011-12 Cricket Season

 

Senior

Two rounds of One-Day (50 over matches) and one round of Declaration. The First Round would include Otago Country the following One-Day and Declaration rounds would then include byes.

 

One-Dayers: Round One: Oct 1 – Nov 12

One-Dayers: Round Two: Nov 19 – Dec 17, Jan 28 & Feb 4

Declaration: Feb 11 – March 24

 

One-Day rounds would need to be two distinct competitions giving Otago Country something to play for. (Speights Cup - Round One and Southern Sports Bar & Grill One-Day Cup - Round Two.)

 

Top Three teams after first round not including Otago Country will represent Dunedin in the Otago National Club Championships Qualifying Competition.

Pre-season matches: Clubs to organise individual requirements, Bookings of grounds can be made (via DCA) for dates from September 17th.

 

Challenge Cup to be played for each round excluding matches v Otago Country or if holders have the bye.

Limited Overs – 40 Overs, Round Robin

Senior Twenty20 Knockout

Friday Night Senior Club Knockout

 

Dates: Jan 20th, Jan 27th, Feb 10th & Feb 18th

 

7 senior club teams plus 1 other (Sec School, Second XI, OCA age-group)

 

Prize money: $1000.00?

Final: Televised, Channel 9?

Start Time: 5pm?

Pitches: Grass

 

Second Grade

 

Proposal One:

 

Club T20

          2 weeks: Jan 14th & Jan 21st

 

 

Proposal Two:

 

Third Grade and Fourth Grade

 

 

Masters Twenty20

 

Open entry for 4 teams. Teams of 11 players (35 years or older with max of 2 younger players dispensation)

 

4 week competition, mix of early (11am) & late (3pm) games

 

Dates: Jan 21st, Jan 28th, Feb 11th & Feb 18th (No matches Waitangi weekend)

 

Entries confirmed by Dec 16th

 

Cost: $75 + GST per team.
