Taieri v Kaikorai Demons 7 Nov

A 70 odd run seventh wicket partnership between Ben Pinfold and Sean Brosnahan proved to be the saviour for Kaikorai in their 61 run win over Taieri.

Taieri, winning the toss, put Kaikorai into bat.  This looked to have paid dividends with Kaikorai teetering at five for 33 in the 15th over. Josh Bates, opening, reached 16 but the other top order all went cheaply, the wickets being spread amongst the Taieri bowlers.

Sean Brosnahan however, steadied the ship and then, with Ben Pinfold, combined to take the score past 100 before Sean was out, bowled Rebecca Henderson, for 27.  Ben then carried on with Joe Brown (17 not out), to make 53 before being caught in the last over hitting out off the bowling of Tom Logie.

Kaikorai finishing in the 31st over at 141 for eight. The best of the bowling for Taieri from Will Hunter three for 20, Tom Logie two for 24 and Hamish Cotter none for 20 off seven overs.

Taieri opened with Will and Rebecca but both were out for nine a piece to the bowling of Mike Fraser and Joe Brown.  Batting one down, only Tom Logie (19) & Hamish Cotter (16 not out) further resisted the Kaikorai bowling attack with the remaining Taieri batters going cheaply.

Taieri were all out in the 22nd over for 80, with Joe Brown returning great figures of four for 9 off four overs.
